Printed cotton tote bags for youth associations – room for illustrated artwork
Printed cotton tote bags for youth associations were produced for StepEurope ry in December 2018. The association works with international youth cooperation. Its order comprised 130 natural cotton bags. A large illustration and a smaller organisation logo were printed on one side. Blue, yellow and black formed the three-colour design.
A smaller logo below the artwork
The StepEurope name sits below the main graphic. Its smaller scale lets the illustration remain the most prominent element while still identifying the association behind the bag. The image and the name therefore play distinct roles within one layout.
Blue and yellow areas form the illustration’s main colour blocks. Black adds outlines and solid shapes, with light streaks visible across parts of the coloured areas. Natural cotton remains visible around the print, separating it from the seams and the top edge of the bag.
Natural cotton with long handles
The order used 140 g/m² cotton in a 38 × 42 cm tote bag. Long handles allow it to be carried over the shoulder, while the plain front leaves room for both broad shapes and smaller details. The fabric provides the light background throughout the design.
The project shows an association identity expressed through an illustration rather than a large logo alone. Both the artwork and the smaller name stay visible without competing for the same role. Natural fabric around the coloured areas gives the whole composition a consistent light background.
