Custom tote bag samples help you answer practical questions before committing to an order. A photograph cannot tell you exactly how the fabric feels or whether your planned contents sit comfortably inside. Start by deciding what you need the sample to confirm.
Know which sample you are reviewing
A blank bag sample is useful for assessing the model, fabric, colour and construction. An existing printed sample can show an example of a printing process, but it does not confirm the outcome of your own artwork. A project-specific printed sample serves a different purpose again.
Ask which options are available, what they cost and how they affect the schedule. A digital mockup does not include a physical printed sample unless this has been agreed.
Check the bag against the specification
Keep the product reference beside you. Compare the listed model, colour, dimensions and handle arrangement with the sample. Ask how measurements are taken if the specification is unclear, and record any questions before approving the bulk order.
Inspect the seams and handle attachments visually. Look at the opening and base as well as the front panel. A sample inspection is useful for spotting concerns; it is not a laboratory test or proof of a particular load rating.
Pack it as the recipient will use it
Put in the real items, including any folder, gift box or inner packaging. Check insertion and removal, the shape of the packed bag and carrying comfort. If the bag is intended for an event, try it with the clothing and additional items attendees are likely to carry.
Write down specific observations rather than simply calling the bag good or bad. "The folder catches at the opening" is useful feedback; "It feels wrong" gives the supplier less to work with.
Separate artwork approval from bag approval
For a digital proof, review the spelling, layout, print dimensions and colour instructions. For a printed sample, also review the actual appearance on the selected fabric. Keep the agreed artwork version with your order documentation.

Follow the care instructions supplied for the bag and print. If you need a wash test for your project, agree the method and acceptance criteria before treating the result as approval.
Does one sample guarantee the entire batch?
A sample is a reference for your decision. Agree the production specification and any required quality checks separately with the supplier.
