Printed cotton bags for dog kennels – gussets add carrying depth
Printed cotton bags for dog kennels were made for Astersland in June 2022. The kennel breeds Welsh Corgi Cardigan and Pembroke dogs. Its order comprised 50 royal blue tote bags. One colour was printed on one side of each gusseted bag. Three white corgi illustrations sat above the kennel name and a smaller line naming the breeds.
Extra depth from a side gusset
The historical bag measured 38 × 42 cm with a 10 cm gusset and used 220 g/m² cotton. The side panel gives the bag depth beyond a flat tote bag. Long handles allow it to be carried over the shoulder.
The print stays on the front panel, leaving the side and upper area plain. White outlines describe the three dogs, with royal blue cloth visible within each figure. Their different poses sit above the large Astersland name, keeping the illustrations and lettering together in one compact area.
The same artwork on another colour
In July 2022, a Welsh Corgi breed association ordered 100 grey bags with the same artwork. The corgi illustrations and kennel name were retained across that change of fabric colour. The later run used grey fabric, while the 50 bags in this example were royal blue.
On the royal blue version, the white drawing contrasts clearly with the cotton. The dogs, kennel name and breed wording share one visual treatment. The fabric stays visible between the white lines, linking the illustration to the bag’s strong background colour.
