Printed cotton bags for silhouette designs – one colour per version
Printed cotton bags for silhouette designs were made for an Albana order in March 2019. The batch comprised 100 natural tote bags. Fifty bags were printed in pink and fifty in blue. Both versions used the same silhouette artwork. Each design used one ink colour, while the fabric stayed natural.
Letting the fabric form the lettering
The Albana name is left open within the printed silhouette. Natural cotton shows through those letters, giving the name contrast without adding a second ink colour. The same cloth remains visible around the figure at the sides and above it.
The silhouette extends from the high hair shape to the shoulders. Its outline stays the same in both versions, making the change of ink colour easy to compare. Pink and blue give the artwork different appearances while retaining a single recognisable composition.
The same cotton bag for both versions
Both runs used natural 140 g/m² cotton tote bags measuring 38 × 42 cm, with long handles for shoulder carrying. The bag model and fabric colour stayed constant across the order. Only the ink colour changed between the two groups of 50.
Keeping the fabric and outline constant makes the ink colour the clear difference between the two versions. The unprinted Albana lettering remains part of each silhouette, so both designs use the natural cotton itself to form the name. The pair shows how one artwork can retain its identity across two one-colour treatments.
