Printed cotton bags for galleries – contrast from coloured fabric
Printed cotton bags for galleries were made for AUTOR in May 2022. The design and jewellery gallery is in Copenhagen. Its order comprised 200 orange tote bags. Two large black shapes and the gallery name appeared on the front. The orange cotton supplied the background for the geometric artwork.

A square and a circle occupy most of the printed area. Their solid black surfaces give the symbol visual weight, while their different outlines keep the shapes distinct. The AUTOR name sits directly below in large letters, smaller than the forms above.
The design uses the contrast between dark print and bright fabric. Orange remains visible around the shapes and between the letters. There are no additional ink colours in the photographed artwork, so the cloth itself is an active part of the finished appearance.
Long handles and space around the print
The long handles allow shoulder carrying and leave the printed front unobstructed. Unprinted space above the artwork separates it from the top seam. That margin lets the square, circle and name remain one self-contained graphic.
The project combines a gallery identity, a coloured cotton background and a simple black treatment. The linked orange long-handled bag is the current product reference. In AUTOR’s design, the square, circle and name form a compact group, with the orange cloth visible around each part.
