Printed cotton tote bags for conferences – long handles for carrying
Printed cotton tote bags for conferences carried a compact identity for Helsinki Script, a screenwriting industry event. Fiction Finland ry ordered 50 white cotton bags in September 2019. The design used one print colour on one side. A small black circle sat near the lower edge of the bag. Long handles allowed shoulder carrying, with most of the front left unprinted.
Placing the logo near the lower edge
The Helsinki Script name sits inside the black circle. Light lettering is formed by the surrounding dark print, keeping the event name and its background within one compact mark. No extra headline or large illustration appears above it.
The low placement leaves a generous area of plain cotton between the print and the handles. Black against white gives the circle a defined edge, while the open fabric makes the size and position of the mark part of the overall layout.
A simple cotton bag with long handles
The bag has a flat body and long handles. Its plain white surface supports the restrained design without adding a separate printed background.
The project brings the screenwriting event’s identity to a plain cotton bag through a small, contained print. The circle gives the name its own background, while its position leaves the rest of the front open. The bag’s shape and the space around the mark are both visible parts of the design.
