In September 2019, we printed 50 white cotton tote bags for Helsinki Script, a screenwriting industry event. The order came from Fiction Finland ry and used one print colour on one side of the bag.
The design is small in scale: a black circular logo sits close to the lower edge. Most of the white front remains unprinted, giving this event bag a quiet, uncluttered appearance.
The words Helsinki Script sit within the black shape. The light lettering is defined by the surrounding dark print, keeping the event name and its background together as one compact mark.
There is no extra headline or large illustration above it. The circle alone identifies the event in the photographed design.
The low placement leaves a generous area of plain fabric between the print and the handles. It is a different approach from filling the front with a large event graphic.
The contrast between the black circle and white cotton gives the small design a defined edge. Its position is as much a part of the finished appearance as its size.
The bag has a flat body and long handles for shoulder carrying. Its plain white surface lets the small black logo remain the only printed feature.
For your own conference artwork, this project offers a straightforward example: a compact mark, one print colour and plenty of space around it.
