Printed cotton tote bags for youth centres – white lettering on orange

Printed cotton tote bags for youth centres appear in this March 2019 project for Værftet, a youth and cultural centre in Denmark. We printed 300 orange cotton bags. White printing on one side forms the words “TRO PÅ DET”. Each word sits on its own line, making the short message the main design.

The Værftet project: a three-word message printed in white on orange cotton.

White lettering against bright fabric

The letters vary in size and angle, giving the message a lively appearance. The line breaks keep the words separate, while their close arrangement makes them read as one design.

White ink stands out against the orange cotton. The fabric remains visible inside and around the letters, helping to define their shapes without adding another print colour.

The centre’s name appears in much smaller white lettering near the bottom. It identifies the organisation while leaving the large message as the main feature.

Three lines on a long-handle bag

The text follows the upright shape of the bag. There is no illustration beside it, so the lettering carries the whole message.

The long handles allow shoulder carrying and leave the text visible across the bag front. The orange fabric is part of the design, giving the white lettering its background.

The three separate lines give a short phrase enough space to fill the front without a separate image.
